On 11 August 2026, @grok announced that Grok Bot had moved into public beta.
Grok Bot is in public beta — AI teammates that can sign into tools, do real work, and return finished results.
What Grok Bot is
xAI describes Grok Bot as more than a chat window. The public framing is:
- Teammates, not only answer engines
- Ability to sign into tools
- Capacity to perform real work
- Delivery of finished results, not only drafts or suggestions
That places Grok Bot in the agent layer of the Grok stack: systems that take actions with tools, rather than models that only generate text.
Relationship to Grok 4.5 / 4.6 and Grok Build
The core Grok models (including Grok 4.5 and Grok 4.6) provide the reasoning and generation. Grok Build is the harness xAI highlights for coding and long-running agentic work. Grok Bot is the productised teammate experience on top of that direction.
An earlier early-beta note on this site covered the first public framing. The 11 August update is the wider public-beta step, with xAI also signalling plans to expand access after fixing early issues.
