On 1 October 2026, the official @bot account posted that Grok Bot can suggest ways to help without the user asking.

Grok Bot can now suggest ways to help without you needing to ask.

A follow-up in the same thread said: “Your primary Bot will spot work it can take off your plate and offer to handle it. It’s rolling out over the next few hours, and suggestions don’t count against your usage.” The post linked to x.ai/bot.

What was announced

From the @bot thread:

  • Grok Bot can suggest ways to help without a request
  • The primary Bot spots work it can take off the user’s plate and offers to handle it
  • The change was rolling out over the next few hours from the time of the post
  • Suggestions do not count against usage

Staff member @mattyp (matt palmer) posted an example the same day, quoting the @bot post: he switched flights, and Bot noticed he had not updated an Uber reservation, then pinged him to update it during a connecting flight. He said he had Starlink, so he could change the reservation before landing.

Elon Musk quoted that example: “Grok @Bot is an amazing assistant.”

Context

The posts describe a proactive suggestion behaviour for the primary Grok Bot, with a personal travel example from staff. They do not describe a new product surface beyond suggestions offered by the primary Bot.

Limits of this report

The sources are the @bot thread, @mattyp’s example, and Elon’s quote. Which plans receive the rollout, how the Bot decides what to suggest, which connected tools it can act on, and whether the Uber case required an existing reservation connector were not specified in the post text.
